How do you use maths in your job?
As a business manager, my primary concern, as with all businesses, is margin (profit). So I use a lot of percentages daily to calculate margin for shipments, etc. For this we need to know and estimate the cost for a shipment, whether it’s by air or by sea.

For international shipments, knowledge of up to date foreign exchange rates is crucial, so knowledge of this conversion is essential.

For the shipments themselves, the dimensions and weights of each must be calculated. This value is known as the ‘dimweight’ and international companies, such as airlines will quote you prices based on this value!
